Background
They climb where no horse dares: walls, rooftops, sheer cliffs. Each rider straddles a spider the size of a destrier, bristle-legged and swollen-bellied, steered with reins of spun web. Note the standard crowned with a silken web, the buglers with their twisted horns, the skulls swinging from saddle straps like trophies. They loose their short bows from the flank and vanish over the next ridge. By the time you hear the chitter of legs on stone, they are already upon you.
